When Tamye Riggs & Stephen Coles asked me if I would create the materials for this year’s TypeCon (which is a Type Conference, natch), I said yes, with the idea that this would be a good time to try out some ideas I’ve had using isometrics. When I found out the conference theme was “Letter Space” I couldn’t believe my luck.
Then I built The Thing.

Cool huh? At the moment James Grieshaber is using it to build some ads and other materials,; someone else will be doing the website; and in a while I’ll build out The Thing into a poster and eventually the program guide.
Reich Paper is donating Shine Midnight Blue paper for the materials, and it is going to be Suh-weet! We’re planning on doing some special posters, and of course t-shirts and other fun things with The Thing, and the only way you can get them is by attending TypeCon in Seattle, August 1–5, 2007. Oh, and yeah, I’ll be there.
All hail The Thing!
